On October 11, 2024, the regular meeting of the editorial board of the university journal Obrana a strategie took place. The meeting began with an evaluation of the previous issue, 1/2024, and a presentation of the improving citation metrics. The main focus of the meeting was a discussion on the submitted author contributions and the approval of their selection for the peer review process for the next issue, which will be published in December this year. The growing interest from international authors in the University of Defence journal is demonstrated by the fact that submissions for the upcoming issue were received not only from authors in the Czech Republic and Slovakia but also from China, Turkey, Malaysia, Belgium, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Lithuania, India, Pakistan, Iran, Bulgaria, and Indonesia. In connection with the recent transition to English-only publications and efforts to enhance the journal’s reach and citation impact, several technical and procedural changes were discussed, along with quality control measures and articles‘ ethical integrity. There was also a discussion on using AI in the editorial process. The meeting concluded with the unanimous approval of the annual plan for 2025.
