Current capabilities of the Czech defence industry in the production of unmanned systems, trends in technological development and production capacity, barriers to further growth, and challenges and opportunities the war in Ukraine presents for drone manufacturers.

  Ing. Jiří Bednář, Defence Policy and Strategy Division, Ministry of Defence:
  How the Czech Ministry of Defence is responding to the dramatic increase in the use of unmanned systems in current conflicts, the qualitative requirements of the Czech Armed Forces (CAF) for UAV supplies in peacetime, and how to prepare for a potential exponential increase in their use during high-intensity conflict.

  Lt. Col. Ing. Tomáš Hurtík, Intelligence Support Division, Ministry of Defence:
  Current experiences with the deployment of drones in conflicts, challenges in integrating commercially available dual-use systems into the CAF, and qualitative requirements for unmanned systems, such as reliability, data transmission, and resistance to jamming.

  Mgr. Michal Rendla, Industrial Cooperation Division, Ministry of Defence:
  The legal and procurement framework for cooperation with domestic producers of unmanned systems, setting up collaboration with the private sector, including primarily civilian-oriented companies; obstacles to fast and flexible public procurement, certification, and security assessment issues.

  Opportunities and limitations of small companies in developing drones for both military and civilian markets, and obstacles to cooperation with the state administration and the Ministry of Defence.

  Research and development capacities of the University of Defence in the field of unmanned systems, opportunities for participation in joint projects, and technology transfer.

Panel discussion: The Czech Dual-Use Drone Ecosystem – Opportunities and Barriers to Cooperation
A moderated discussion on the current state of CAF equipment with unmanned systems, the potential for the development of the Czech dual-use drone industry, and the creation of self-sufficient capacities—from research and development to mass production. The discussion will also focus on obstacles to cooperation between the public and private sectors and on ways to integrate domestic companies more effectively into defence industry supply chains.
