The workshop “Host Nation Support: The Czech Republic as the Second Echelon Country” took place on May 20, 2025. The workshop aimed to provide a comprehensive view of the issue of “Host Nation Support” in the context of tasks stemming from NATO’s new Strategic Concept and the perspective of a country located in the rear area of a potential conflict.

The discussions primarily focused on the principles, established practices, and experiences in this area. Presentations were delivered by representatives of the Centre for the Study of New Generation Warfare and their guest. During a panel discussion, the topic was further examined with representatives of the General Staff, Territorial Forces, and CBVSS (likely a national defense or support structure).

Participants of the workshop agreed on the key role of HNS (Host Nation Support) in ensuring the Alliance’s core task, which is the deterrence of the enemy.
